About Chubba (On Trial 21/8/13)
Chubba is a healthy Chihuahua X boy, 14 months old. He has a lovely gentle nature but can be very timid at first so you need to be patient and earn his trust. He is fantastic around kids, he loves to follow my 3 yo round the house! He is very wary of other dogs at first, he has been kept with other male dogs but I feel he would be more suited to be the only dog in the family. He hasn't socialised with cats but he wasn't keen on our Galah and would bark at him.
Chubba loves to cuddle of a night time. He curls up small and nuzzles under your arm then settles down to sleep. He has a fun side too and does a cheeky little dance when he wants to play! He sleeps indoors and needs a warm comfy bed to curl up on. He loves to be close by so shutting him outside wouldn't suit him as he gets upset and barks. He is house trained as far as I can tell, we have had no accidents here but I leave the door open for him to go out as he wishes.
Chubba has had very little obedience training in his short life so far but is very keen to learn. He likes to play with a ball by himself but doesn't play fetch, he will nose it and chase it. He has never been walked on a lead. If he is off the lead he will stay near but will not fully return to you on recall. He could be taught all these things.
Chubba's ideal home would be where he is the only dog, has a child to play with and gentle loving owners that have the time to spend training and reassuring him. He will melt your heart when you meet him.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
