About Banjo (On Trial 12/8/13)
Banjo is a beautiful 9 yr old, male, border collie (with a bit of kelpie). He is settled, gentle and calm and very obedient. He will sit and come on command consistently and stays close by if off lead, always awaiting your instruction or approval.
Banjo loves living with children and enjoys their company. He is currently in a foster home with an 11 and 9 yr old child and loves to engage them in a game of ball or sit and be stroked. He is particularly gentle with younger children. He is completely undemanding of attention but his gentle nature endears you immediately.
Banjo is sharing his foster home with another dog, a cat, a lizard and several chickens, all of which he happily cohabitates with in an easy going no fuss manner.
He is very fit with no health issues, enjoying a good run or a brisk walk daily. Timid initially, Banjo has a trusting, loyal nature and has coped with the transition to a foster home in a relaxed manner. He would make a wonderful well trained family pet or a loyal companion to someone who enjoys that daily walk!
For more information or to meet Banjo please phone foster carer Kate on 02-4945-0704 or 0427-241-049 or email lmms07@hotmail.com . Banjo is in foster care in Belmont, NSW (east Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Banjo's $200 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
