About Leo
You would be forgiven for thinking that Leo is actually a Teddy Bear not a Shih Tzu as he has a gorgeous soft, fluffy coat and everyone who meets him falls instantly in love. Leo is in foster care with another Shih Tzu X Maltese called Monty and they are good friends that love nothing more than to go running in the off leash park. Leo flies around soaking up the sun, enjoying his freedom and the fact that he is now in a good place. The best home for Leo will be with another small companion dog, a family who will love him and take him on walks often and access to a safe back garden at all times via a doggy door. Leo has been spoilt in his foster home and does sleep on his carer's bed all night long without a peep. He will need regular grooming to keep his coat in good condition.
Medical notes
UPDATE 14 NOVEMBER: Unfortunately Leo has been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease which is not a common condition in dogs but neither is it uncommon so the treatment is quite simple. Leo takes quarter of a tablet twice a day of a drug called Sulfasalazine and the cost to treat Leo with this drug is approximately $60 per year. Sulfasalazine is a human drug and with a prescription from your vet it can be purchased from your local pharmacy. Leo’s diet is ZD dry food which is available from your local vet clinic and, as Leo will eat anything that is put in from of him, ZD is a great option.
