About Tonto (On Trial 17/8/13)
Tonto absolutely loves people and has the most beautiful personality. He is only 18 months old and is already well trained and can sit, lie down, roll over and comes when he is called. He especially likes belly rubs and sometimes just rolls over for them without being told. He is a Kelpie mix.
Tonto is a mostly an outside dog but loves coming inside at night to sleep when it’s cold. He is housetrained. He would love to be allowed inside to enjoy being with us more. Tonto has lots of energy and needs daily walks and would love a big area to run around. His favourite thing to do is throw his own toys and chase after them. Very cute.
Tonto is fine being home by himself and gets so excited when we get home from work. He moves his bed to the sunshine during the day and plays with his toys. He has the backyard to himself and only barks when other dogs are going for walks around our house. He is great with kids but we make sure we supervise him as we are just getting to know him even though we think he'd be fine.
Tonto has been the first dog we have fostered and we couldn’t have picked a better dog. He has the best nature and will be a loyal, loving companion for his forever family.
For more information or to meet Tonto please phone foster carer Mel on 0438-430-955. Tonto is in foster care in Charlestown, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Tonto's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
