About Penny and Spencer (On Trial 10/9/13)
Penny and Spencer are 2 lovely Australian Terrier cross dogs only 18 months old. They are looking to find their forever homes together. They're like a married couple, Penny (female, fawn) definitely wears the pants in this relationship and is protective of Spencer (male, black) although he can hold his own very well. They are major lap dogs and Spencer will lovingly sprawl across your lap while Penny nudges your hand to pat her.
They love being inside and need human contact and lots of love to be happy. They warm up very quickly to dogs similar in size but our Penny and Spencer are traditionalists and cats are their mortal enemy. They both love their food and aren't fussy but they'll be extra good for a nice chicken neck.
These two love plenty of attention so they would suit a home that currently has a very laid back dog or one with none at all so you can shower just them with all the love you have to give.
If you would like more information or to meet Penny and Spencer please phone their foster carer Mark in Beresfield, NSW (20 minutes northwest of Newcastle, near Maitland) on 0419-435-063 or email karlos.09@bigpond.com
Their adoption fee is $800 for the pair and includes their desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registrations. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
(Spencer has bandages on his hind legs in a couple of the photos. That's because he had his dew claws removed. A common procedure and one that will cause him no more bother)

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
