About Dexter (adopted 14/7/13)
Dexter is a 2 yo, purebred, Golden Labrador. He is truly a nice boy, bright and happy, and very handsome. He really deserves a family that understand Labs, that is, that Labs are very affectionate and need to be included as a member of the family. Dexter is getting on wonderfully with my dogs. There has not been a harsh word between them. He is very curious about our cat but I don't know what he would do if he got her. He hasn't been here long enough to find out.
Dexter didn't have a good start in life. He was living by himself, with no other dog for company, outside in the cold and never allowed inside. So now that he has been rescued he deserves a great future. This is the home I want for him (the one he must have) is one:
* with another dog or dogs,
* where he be allowed inside and sleep inside,
* where he will get a walk every day.
Dexter is well worth it. He is truly enjoying receiving lots of affection and making up for lost time. He will be a wonderful addition to a caring family.
For more information or to meet Dexter please phone Sharon on 0409 522 029 or email sharron64@optusnet.com.au . Dexter is in foster care in Charlestown, NSW (Lake Marquarie, near Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Dexter's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
