About Zoe (On Trial 5/9/13)
Zoe is a Pomeranian x Tenterfield Terrier, about 2 years old. She didn't have a good start to life but is starting to come out of her shell. She needs someone gentle and patient who will show her lots of love so she can continue learning to trust people. After she knows you she enjoys being nursed and will fall asleep in your arms.
Zoe is a very pretty little girl with long soft black fur and a lion's mane that is beautiful to brush and stroke. She looks a bit like a baby fox. She is used to being with other small dogs and will sometimes play with another little dog. She is not fully housetrained yet because we've just been focusing on letting her relax and settle in. She has had very little experience walking on lead. She is frightened by loud noises. She is an inside dog.
Zoe needs a calm, settled environment so she wouldn't be suitable to a home with children. She is a very loving dog who just needs someone to give her a chance to blossom. It will be extremely rewarding to gently introduce Zoe to the big wide world and watch her learn to open up and be happy.
Zoe is not used to being left home alone so she will need either another small, calm dog to be her friend and/or a person who is home most of the time. Zoe has a little friend similar in appearance to her named Brandi who is also available for adoption and they make a compatible pair if you want 2 dogs. ($600 for the pair or $400 for either one).
For more information or to meet Zoe please phone foster carer Debbie on 02 4945 8756 or email smilingspider@vtel.com.au . Zoe is in foster care in Belmont, NSW 2280 (near Charlestown in Lake Macquarie).
Zoe's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
