Romy *On Trial in Her New Home*

*ROMY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME* Romy is an affectionate bundle of energy! At just 2 years old, she’s a dainty little miss who is always up for a bit of fun. She is looking for an active owner committed to regular exercise and obedience training, so come and meet this pocket rocket; she’s gorgeous and ever so adorable!

We’re not sure what Romy’s crossed with though at 8kgs she’s twice the size of a standard Pomeranian – she kind of reminds us of a Border Collie who shrunk in the wash! She’s terrific with other dogs and has settled in well into foster care with two male Shih Tzu’s. She’s also a fast learner as we don’t think she’d had any training prior to coming into care, after spending time in Robinvale pound, though she’s been picking up the basics and appears keen to learn.

From her foster carer:
Romy is a HUGE people lover and I’ve been socialising her with some dogs other than our own and she has no issues – I don’t think she has a mean bone in her body. She is getting better at walking without tangling you up in her lead and always keeps up a good pace - the only thing I have to worry about is that she seems to want to chase trucks and cars with trailers, so I’m working with her on this. \ Other than that even other dogs barking at her while we’re out walking don’t faze her at all. She learns quickly and although it still needs some work Romy now sits when I ask her to and she is starting to sit when we get to road crossings and wait for me to tell her she can walk across. She loves attention and cuddles even though she doesn’t sit still for very long – she’s a busy little girl! \ Romy eats everything we feed her. She would suit an active household as she can get bored and up to mischief if she doesn't get some attention plus her daily walk. She is great with people but may jump up on small children and knock them over if she isn't told to sit first and even then sometimes she is too excited to listen though she does calm down eventually – she loves meeting new humans! She travels well in the car just sitting quietly in the back and Romy really enjoys a bath and being groomed – her fur goes all crinkly when it’s wet!

As Romy is already housetrained and sleeps inside at night we’d like to see this continued in her forever home with either another friendly dog for company or on her own so long as she won’t be left alone for long periods of time. Secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to keep her stimulated will make young Romy very happy indeed! She will also benefit from regular brushing and a professional groom as required.
