About Digby (On Trial 31/7/13)
Hi my name is Digby I am a 11 mths old red cattle x boy. I am considered a disabled dog. I have had hip operation. I have 3 working legs. My fourth leg does not work but there is hope, as I am using my leg a little and getting stronger. I use it to balance. I get around well on 3 legs.
I am very happy and friendly and I hope people see that not my problem. My foster mum says I have a lovely temperament. I live with 9 dogs and love them all. I have good manners, I wait for my food and come when called. I am not a fussy dog and will eat anything.
My favourite thing to do is get cuddles and watch tv and just relax. I love to go to the park or go to the beach and find new friends to play with. I am very good on lead, even though I have only 3 legs. When you call out Digby I will come running, hopefully get a cuddle for my good manners.
Digby would be best suited to a young family, with or without kids, who are willing to take him for regular walks, and play around the yard with him. Diby would be best placed in a home with another active dog. Digby deserves a great, loving family, who will be rewarded with a gorgeous companion and friend for life.
Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization. Digby is in foster care on the Central Coast NSW, and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet him please contact Annette mbl 0404 099 021.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
