About Django
Well what a sweet little surprise Django has been. I thought I was fostering a scared young dog, but it seems he was simply very uncertain. He just seemed very confused about what was going on and what was expected of him. Being a smart boy though, he just followed my dog and, with routine, has quickly learnt what life in a family is all about.
Django is a very sweet boy and loves to cuddle or lie at your feet and keep them warm. He clearly likes people, but as he’s still getting to understand them, he prefers calm introductions. He will approach for pats, but is a bit uncertain about people approaching him excited. Maybe not suitable for a home with young children, unless there are appropriate introductions. His focus on humans has increased a lot already and he has bonded with me quite quickly.
Django is great with other dogs and loves doggy company. He’s devoted to his 8 yo female Staffy x pack mate and they spend their time wresting (gently) or snuggling together in bed. He’s gained so much confidence from being with her that I really think he would benefit from being in a home with another dog.
Although I don’t think he’d spent any time in a house before coming to me, Django is extremely well behaved inside. He’s never had an accident inside and is generally pretty calm. He sleeps in his bed beside me and doesn’t stir until I do. He’s also crate trained. He’s very polite with food and has never reacted negatively to people or dogs when food is involved.
The little man isn’t too bad on the lead… a bit of a tugger but he is getting much better with instruction. He has also learnt a few basic commands (sit, wait and come) and will really benefit from ongoing guidance.
Django has been a joy to have in my home and really is a gorgeous little man.
