Missy *On Trial in Her New Home*

*MISSY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME* This absolutely beautiful young dog is Missy and she’s looking for a loving forever home – will it be with you???

Missy was reluctantly surrendered to SARG for rehousing as she easily squeezed through her previous owners farm fencing and liked to go looking for company so they realised they couldn’t tie her up but didn’t want her getting skittled on the road so decided a new, caring home would be best for her which is when we stepped in to help. She’s now settled into foster care and is enjoying life in a safely fenced yard with her carers’ own dogs who she gets along really well with. Missy is fine with the household cats is not at all fazed by the chooks or ducks or even their pet pig who thinks he’s a dog anyway! She’s such a gentle little dog with a loving nature; it’s hard to believe she’s still a pup at only 9 months of age!

Sweet Missy isn’t at all “in your face” or yappy, though she can be a terrific watch dog when the need arises. She likes cuddles from her carers 3 young children and especially enjoys the company of women and has become quite fond of the “lady of the house’. At 8.6kgs Missy is on the slightly larger side of small – she reminds us a bit of a short-legged Border Collie without all the energy! We describe her as a placid girl who is quite easy going although she can be a little frightened by loud noises or sudden movement though recovers quickly. She has lovely manners and doesn’t jump up on you or if she does she’s really “light” about it though like all young dogs she could always do with some ongoing obedience training. If you want to see Missy get really excited then pop her on a lead and take her for a walk as she loves getting out and about and is rather energetic about it and can be quite the little “puller” so some more practice will hopefully help with this!!!

While in care Missy has been brushing up on “sit” and also appears to be housetrained – she’s managed to sneak into bed with her carer a couple of times during the night! \ Missy would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a friendly doggie companion or on her own as she was an only dog in her past life, but only if she won’t be left alone for long periods of time as she is used to having human company so 6 plus hours per day by herself in a backyard would not suit her at all.
