About Betty (On Trial 17/8/13)
My name is Betty, I'm a 2year old female Jack Russell x. I love to snuggle and have so much love to give, enjoying nothing more than to be with you. Although walks along the beach, playing with (small sized) foster puppy friends and scoffing down a nice dinner all rank very highly with me.
I am very nervous around new people due to my past experiences, but after a few short hours I will warm up to those I meet. I am not confident around small children due to the sudden and often loud noises they make, preferring the company of the older generation who are home more often than not and who like to play and snuggle with me. I would also enjoy it if there were another similar breed dog friend to keep me busy, yet being the centre of everyone's attention is growing on me.
I am an inside dog, sleeping on my bed next to my foster parents bed (although I love to sneak into theirs for a cuddle)! I have impeccable manners, using a doggy door to do my business so as not to disturb you in your sleep. I come when called, even when exploring off the lead. I eat whatever is placed in my bowl, and am starting to learn tricks for treats.
I am a very loveable dog, none of this small dog syndrome. Not one to bark often, I have been told I am good listener and a joy to have around. I am just waiting for a loving family to call my own.
For more information or to meet Betty please phone foster carer Karen on 0403-940-014. Betty is in foster care in Blacksmiths NSW 2281 (Lake Macquarie, near Swansea, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Betty's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping and life time registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
