About Yoko (On Trial 19/7/13)
Yoko, is a beautiful 10 year old, red, female, Shiba Inu (rare and ancient breed) who is sadly in need of a new home after her elderly owner passed away.
Yoko is a very quiet girl. She has not been around other dogs but in saying that, she is currently living with my 10 year old male Shih tzu who she is fine with. She is lovely and gentle with my 2 year old son.
She is not a barker and just does her own thing, sniffing around the yard. She walks well on the lead and is quiet as a mouse. She is very gentle and will take treats gently from your hand. She will make a fantastic pet for someone that wants an older dog who's very quiet and gentle. She is a very clever girl and can dance on her back legs when asked.
Yoko was dearly loved by her owner for 8 years. She is now in foster care and patiently waiting for another owner to love and care for her, for the remainder of her years.
See more information about the rare Shiba Inu breed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiba_Inu
For more information or to meet Yoko please phone foster carer Lisa on 0404 012 720 or email mlgorton@bigpond.com Yoko is in foster care near Maitland, NSW (near Newcastle).
Yoko's $200 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
