About Lucy (On Trial 7/7/13)
Hi my name is Lucy, and I am a 9year old Cattle x Kelpie. I am just the sweetest, most gentle dog you will ever meet. Don’t let my age fool you my favourite things to do are to play ball, go swimming, go for drives in the car, and of course go for walks, and just lay sleeping beside you.
I walk well on the lead, although I still get a bit excited at the start and pull, but not very hard. And I am ever so good in the car. I love my food and I am not fussy at all, I am happy to eat biscuits and a few chicken necks or chews as a treats after my walk. I know how to sit and stay for my food. I am very smart and know what you want me to do.
My foster brother is an 8yr old Great Dane X and we love to have a play occasionally but don’t play all day long, we do like our sleep. I also live with a little 3 yr old boy who doesn’t annoy me too much, if he is being too noisy I just get up and go and lay somewhere else. I also live with a cat, I don’t chase her as she is old too and doesn’t run or want to play much, and is happy to sleep most of the day like me.
I am mostly an inside dog, and sleep inside on my bed in the lounge room, and really just like to be around my doggy or human friends. I can go all night without having to be let out to the toilet, and I know how to use the doggy door through the day.
My ideal forever home would be inside with another doggy friend but I would be happy to be your only friend if you were home with me most of the time. I am great around kids of all ages and cats. I am a happy and healthy dog with so much love left to give the right ‘forever family’.
For more information or to meet Lucy please phone foster carer Cheryl on 0402 446 860. Lucy is in foster care in Newcastle NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
