Sadie

She is a really intelligent dog - and occasionally too intelligent for her own good! Sadie is an incredibly affectionate and loving dog. She loves nothing more than cuddles and pats, and being told how wonderful she is. She finds cats fascinating, even if the cats aren't so enthusiastic. She also has a real love of birds. When inside the house, she could watch the pet bird for hours. When outside, I regularly catch her just sitting in the yard, watching the birds on the fence and in the trees. She does hesitate around dogs, but warms to them if she can meet them on her terms - she likes her own space, until she gets to really know a dog, but once she realises they aren’t a threat, she is happy to play and muck around with the best of them.

Sadie isn't just a loving dog, she is also really intelligent. She has mastered the Sit, Drop, Stand, and Stay commands, and she is currently working on Speak and Stay. Her recall is also coming along nicely. She has also managed to master the basic agility course at the dog park, and has started working on the 2nd course. She is always willing to please, and also instantly aware of when she does the wrong thing.

She prefers to not be alone - whether that means spending lots of time with humans, or a dog that she trusts. She is smart enough to work out how to open latch doors, and how to get things out of the wheelie bin. She would do well with high fences, as she is capable of climbing over 4 foot fences, however has stayed put within our 5-6 foot fences. She does like to chew, but only get up to mischief if she hasn’t got a marrow bone, or something appropriate to chew on... otherwise she will find something.

So far, she has not destroyed any bedding or furniture, and has left washing alone on the line with no dramas. 

Sadie has been exposed to children without issue; however she can be a little bit boof-headed and goofy, and could accidentally knock over small children.

Sadie would be best suited to a home where she is allowed her own space, but also not often left alone. She also does best when she has a purpose or something to do. She still needs a little more socialisation and training to help her get comfortable around other dogs and certain people, however she has come a long way in a short time, so with positive attention, she will go far!
