About Skyla (aka Miss Piggy) (On Trial 30/6/13)
Hi, my real name is Skyla but my foster parents have nicknamed me Miss Piggy because I am fantastic and a star and everyone needs to know it. If you forget I will come up and nudge for a pat and if you stop I will nudge again. I am a 3.5 yrs old greyhound and I am retired from racing and am very much enjoying the good life, indoors, as a member of a family.
According to my foster parents I am elegant, gentle and sweet. I also have a very flirty side and will charm anyone who is nice to me. I love car rides and I walk nicely on a lead. I love to throw soft toys around, and I am getting good at catching treats in the air.
I would prefer to be indoors on the softest couch or bed available. I do accept being outside during the day but like to be indoors after dark as I feel the cold and miss my humans. I am housetrained of course. I actually prefer a ride in the car to a walk and then I am very happy to nap around the house and keep you company the rest of the time.
I am friendly with other dogs and even get along very happily with the family cat! I love adults and older kids, but don't enjoy the attentions of little children. I would be especially good with a older person (no bending down to give me attention).
I would like a home that is calm and will treat me like the princess that I am and give me all the love and attention that I deserve. If you believe you can provide a home fit for a princess please call my foster parents Misty and Paul on 02- 4955-7118 or 0434-373-422. I am in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and am available for adoption interstate.
Skyla's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
