About Charlie (On Trial 9/6/13)
Charlie is a 2 year old Shih-Tzu x. He is tiny, approximately 19cm tall and looks more like a puppy. He loves human company, plenty of attention and cuddles. He is very affectionate and would not be happy left alone at home all day. He is best suited to someone who has time to spend with him as he was left outside all the time by his previous owner and he deserves a loving home now to make up for the loneliness in his past. He was very underweight when he came to me but is starting to fill out now; he loves his food and isn't a fussy eater.
Charlie has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. He is housetrained and is an inside dog and needs to be allowed access to the indoors at all times and to sleep inside.
Charlie loves to ride in the car and is learning to walk on a lead which he enjoys. He is still a young dog and I am sure with some training he will be very good as he is a fast learner. He gets on well with my other small foster dog. He would not be suitable with children under 12 years as he is so small. He is a very dear and loving little man and will make someone very happy.
Charlie's birthday is 28/2/2011.
For more information or to meet Charlie please phone foster carer Val on 02-4943-0615 \ or email grandy9@bigpond.com (phoning is preferred). Charlie is in foster care near Charlestown, NSW (Newcastle area), and is available for adoption interstate.
Charlie's $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
