About Sweetie
Hi I’m Sweetie and I’m sad. I have been waiting at BFR for my new loving home for a loooong time.
I’m starting to think no one wants me and I think I know why... Firstly, I’m big! And secondly, I’m stripey. The other dogs are small and cute or large and pretty or pure bred with flowing coats.....but not me.
So, a few weeks ago I was sent on a PAWESOME adventure to stay with Vanessa (she is a foster carer) and her dog Carter. Oh, I loved my adventure so much! At first I wasn’t quite sure what was going on. Why was I in this strange house, and what was that thing meowing? So I put my tail between my legs and did a lot of pacing... trying to work out what to do. I was so anxious I couldn’t eat a thing for 2 days! But Vanessa was so patient with me, and just left me to get used to my new surroundings.
And then it hit me! I was in a nice place and her dog Carter and the meowie thing were very cool. We went on \ walks every morning and Carter showed me all the best places to sniff! Every now and then we would start running! It was so fun I wanted to run the whole way! I have so much energy and I love walking and running!
I loved being at Vanessa's house so much that I decided to show her by wagging my tail and putting my paw on her lap to ask for a pat. I even showed her all my tricks that I had been hiding. I sat, dropped, rolled over. I even shook a paw and gave her high fives! I think she was very impressed because she gave me yummy liver treats!
So now I am waiting again, Vanessa says I have to be patient. Im sad and I can’t help it! It just takes me a while to get used to new people. So I am hoping this story shows you that I will come out of my shell after a few days.
All I want is to be someone’s bestest friend in the whole wide world and love them for the rest of my days. Is that you? Will you help me find a home like Carter has?

A message from Sweetie's carer
This sweet girl may not have had much love or any training in her life so far
but boy is she learning quickly. She now knows when its the best time to sneak
onto the couch for a cuddle, where the best treats are kept and how to get away
with anything with a sad look from her gorgeous brown eyes. She is as sweet and gentle as her name implies but still very much a baby and only just relearning
what it means to be a puppy.
She is very gentle with cats and small animals and
quite submissive to other dogs, but is learning to play and run around with her
foster sister. Like most puppies, she like to chew so lots of toys are a must,
she loves shoes but doesn't chew them, just likes to collect them :) she is
starting to walk well on the lead but still likes to keep contact with you so be
prepared for lots of slow walks to avoid tripping to start with. She is
definitely a snuggler and would love a cuddly family or another dog to cuddle
into at night. She hasn't been around children yet, and while she is very
gentle she will need a family that understands she is still a big puppy that
needs time, training and security to really flourish.
She is still all legs and
paws so may still have some growing to do but probably not a lot. This girl has
do much love to give and is just waiting for the right family to give her a
forever home.
