About Cali (On Trial 17/8/13)
My name is Cali. I am a 10 month old, female, Boxer X possible Staffy. I'm a bit shy at first, but if you come down to my level, I will give you lots of cuddles, and maybe a sneaky kiss. I have a lot of love and affection to give. During the day I am happy to laze around outside with my foster brothers, but I really love being a part of the family inside in the evenings. I have my own soft toys that I can play with inside. I usually fall asleep with them.
When arriving with my new foster family I didn't have many manners, but they have been teaching me, and I can now sit and shake my paws with you. I still have some learning to do, but I learn quickly and respond well to rewards. I am being housetrained and am doing very well but sometimes I forget, but I'm working on this.
I love playing with my new foster brothers and one of them thinks he is my boyfriend ! He has been showing me how to chase a ball but I don't understand to give the ball back yet. Mum says I'm pretty laid back for a puppy because I rarely bark and I don't dig holes, I just like to go with the flow. I don't know what I would be like with cats, but I know I don't get on with pet rabbits or pet birds. At this stage I haven't shown any fear of anything, except I am scared of not being loved. I would love to become a part of a loving family that maybe has a another dog that will love me too.

At the moment I am a bit protective of my food, so I will need to be fed on my own if there's another dog in the family. I am working on this and will need you to be patient with me and continue with my training. When we go for walks, I can pull, but I am learning not to, and I get on well with everyone in the neighbourhood. I get a bit excited when I see another dog on our walks, and like to talk to them. I am a good girl in the car.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training, and not to be left outside in a yard all alone.
For more information or to meet Cali please phone foster carer Gill on 0404 047 477 or Paul on 0418 831 427 or email gillian120472@hotmail.com . Cali is in foster care in Medowie, NSW 2318 (Port Stephens) and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
