About Meg
Beautiful Meg is a purebred Kelpie that was offered to Farmdogz by the prominent breeder when she failed as a working dog. One person’s failure will be the best pet ever for the lucky person or family that adopts her.
This stunning girl is petite in stature and gentle in nature. She has been delightful with adults, other dogs and children, seeming to need little more than exercise, socialisiation and love to be a very happy dog. Her obedience training is well underway with sitting and recall. She knows her name and comes to a whistle or a clap. She is still working on overcoming distractions as she’s spooked by loud noise and the odd broom or vacuum, but her desire to please is very strong and generally wins out. She listens intently, has excellent focus and will very quickly and greatly reward someone willing to invest in her continued training.
Meg is an easy dog to have around. She loves couch and bed cuddle privileges but also stays on her bed in the laundry our outside when required. .She’s a polite eater, happy in the car and very well mannered, rarely if ever barking. She’ll need a little more work to perfect her housetraining, but again she’s eager to please and is already much of the way there. She may initially be tentative with males, but quickly warms up once she has time to adjust.
Meg would benefit from an active home with at least one other dog and ideally owners who have some experience with working breeds so that they can continue to challenge and stimulate her as she grows in confidence. Meg is a ripper dog who we almost can’t bear to part with! But we can’t wait for her to find a forever home that will really love and appreciate all she has to offer, and so willingly gives.
