Hugh (On hold pending adoption by carer)

Hugh is a Great Dane x Johnson Bulldog (American breed). He loves any and all attention that you want to give him!!! This big, blue eyed beauty is is just over 1 year old. He is very intelligent. He is deaf but responds well to hand signals and is eager to learn and to please you. He adores people and will make you his world!!!
 
This fun loving free spirit of a poochie, loves to run, play and do all the usual puppy games. His is 55kg, but is certainly a Gentle Giant. He plays more gently when he is playing with smaller dogs.
 
As Hugh is deaf, we are teaching him using hand signals for sitting, stopping, and while walking on a lead, to stop and to move forward. He responds well to Liver Treats for his training, and is also in the process of being taught to wait until allowed before eating his food.  For a dog of his size Hugh is also very gentle when taking food from your hand.
 
Hughs eyes alone are to die for, with those big baby blues, your heart just melts, Hugh is always walking around with the hugest smile on his face, and with the tongue of his size, it can certainly wash a window in one swoop!!!
 
Hugh enjoys the company of other dogs, and you will hardly notice that he is there. Hugh loves all types of people from children to adults, he will lap all of your attention, and he will make sure that your aware that he is there, when he gives you a nudge for a cuddle. Hugh is such a free spirit, with a joy for life, but he also just loves to lie down and stretch out in the sun.
 
Hugh hasn’t interacted with cats much, but finds them to be interesting, If you have a cat I would strongly suggest caution while introducing each other. While in my foster care I haven’t found any draw backs to Hugh, he is just a delight to have here.
