About Kenny (On Trial 19/5/13)
A gentle Giant in the Great Dane x breeds. Kenny is 1 to 2 years old. Although very shy around new people, Kenny loves children and other dogs. He is a quiet dog whom you would hardly notice either outside or indoors. He will bark to let you know that someone is around, but is very quickly be quiet when spoken too. He has very good manners on and off the lead, he is also very gently while taking food from your hand.
Kenny with all the positive traits that he has, is very shy around certain style of males, although exposed here to young adults, middle aged and at times older men, he tends to be stand offish when it comes to males wearing orange shirts, males with a deeper voice and males with longer style hair. Kenny has no aggression towards these styles he is just rather cautious and backs away from them. With time and understanding he does get used to the situation, and starts to interact with the males.
Kenny has been allowed inside, but still is very unsure about coming into the house, and he needs some extra coaxing, but once inside he finds a spot in the house and usually just stays in that area. I don’t find Kenny to be any problems for a dog his size within the house, in fact he is mannered enough not to get under foot. Kenny gets along well with other dogs as he is for the moment mixing it up with a variety of breeds including another Dane X, to whom has helped him out of his shell while he has been in foster care.
If you are wanting a dog for children then Kenny would be the dog for them as he absolutely adores younger kids, he is very gentle with them and keeps an eye on them at all times.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
