About Dexter (On Hold pending adoption 17/5/13)
Hi my name is Dexter and I will melt your heart! I am a 7-week-old Male Maltese X Jack Russell puppy and I am ready to find my loving “Forever” home in a couple of weeks but am ready for viewing now.
I am a lovely active and happy boy whose main aim in life is to have fun, eat and sleep! I am currently in care with my brother Bentley and I love having the company for snuggles or rough and tumble games and chasing each other around the back yard, when I have had enough of playing I love to go and find a quiet spot where I can just chill out.
My favorite thing to do is play with children and rope toys and I love playing with balls, although I haven’t met any cats yet I’m only young and I’m sure I will get to love them too.
I like to travel in the car and I only cried a little bit when I had my needles and visited the Vets. ------
Dexter is full of love and enjoys the company of people, he loves nothing better than being part of the family and having cuddles and snuggles, and he is ready to find his forever home now. He follows his foster mum around all day and is very loyal.
Dexter is a gorgeous looking puppy and looks more like a Maltese with a longer coat that will need grooming occasionally. Dexter is the quieter of the puppies and is very friendly and open to meet new people and animals once he gets to know you and feels comfortable around you.
He was born in March and will be ready to go in mid May to his forever home.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
For more information or to meet Dexter please phone foster carer Siobhan on 0408 603 156 or email jandspurins@bigpond.com . Dexter is in foster care in New Lambton, NSW 2305. Dexter’s $500 adoption fee covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. www.DogRescueNewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
