About Opal (BnC157)
Beautiful but deaf – Indoor cat only
Opal is a beautiful deaf girl who would love a caring and loving forever home!
Opal is gentle and loves a good pat. She is not a very cuddly cat but will sleep in the bed with you. Opal is strictly an indoor cat!
The majority of the time Opal is quiet but because she is deaf, when she does cry (which isn’t often) she can be loud. She loves being around other animals and people but can also be quite independent. She is very alert and always knows what is going on around her (although she’s deaf her other senses are extremely good).
Opal is very active and playful. She gets in crazy playful moods where she'll run around the house making grunting noises. She can be a little feisty at times (especially when her nails are being clipped) but the Vet advised it could be due to her deafness that she reacts to those types of things being done to her. Opal calmed down a lot once she settled in to her foster home and after her feisty episodes she will usually give her carer a kiss afterwards which according to her foster carer “makes her bad moods not so bad”. She is toilet trained.
Opal loves food, playing with cat toys, doesn't mind water and is relatively calm at bath time. She has even learnt to play with running water along the paving when her foster Mum has watered the plants.
Opal gets along great with cats, dogs and kids! It took her a few days to warm up to her foster dog and cat but now she gets on with them really well. Her foster Mum says it’s quite funny to watch Opal play with other dogs as she has so much attitude and character, especially when she is taunting them!
Opal’s foster Mum believes she would be most suited to a home with other animals that she can play with, maybe even older children who wouldn’t terrorise her, a family or young couple. She needs to be with people who can spend a little time with her each day.
