About Megsie (On Trial 6/5/13)
Megsie is an 11 month year old Shih tzu x Toy Poodle. She is the most adorable little thing. She loves other dogs and the cat and is great with children. She loves to run after and chase and play with the kids. She can be a bit bouncy around them at first but does settle. She has a lovely nature, just beautiful! Megsie is housetrained and is an inside dog and needs to be kept mainly inside, and to sleep inside. She will sleep on the bed if you let her. At present she's sleeping with all my dogs.
She gets her name from the colours that she had when she was little: apricot ears etc. Megsie has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Megsie used to live on her own with an elderly lady, which wasn't an ideal situation for Megsie because she is young and thrives on activity and company. She's not a destructive little girl but still playful and loves toys, slippers shoes, baby dummies etc A family with children (over 6) would be ideal for her or anyone who can give her lots of attention. She doesn't always answer to her name and will run if she gets out the gate and runs faster if chased....she loves the game, trust me! She has dug in the soft dirt here when she's been out in the yard but hasn't managed to get out. She is an adorable little girl who with some training will make a beautiful addition to a family.
For more information or to meet Megsie please phone foster carer Eileen on 0400 513 643. Megsie is in foster care near Maitland, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Megsie's $500 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
