About Bella (3) (On Trial 11/6/13)
This is beautiful Bella. She's a purebred, blue, Neapolitan Mastiff, approx 10 months old. Because she is big, she doesn't need a lot of walking. We take her for a 15 minute walk and she is tuckered out. She walks well on a lead. She is good around small dogs but feels threatened by medium and large dogs. We have a kitten and chickens and she is so gentle with them as well.
Bella is not expensive to feed. I buy a large bag of dog food, then dog chicken mince which is only a couple of dollars a kilo. For breakfast she just has the dog biscuits and for dinner the biscuits plus chicken mince.
Bella is a still a puppy and will need further training, but she's very intelligent. She lays and waits to be told to take her food. We always recommend dog/puppy training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Bella loves to be around people as much as possible. Right now she is an outside dog and isn't house trained yet but because she loves people so much she would dearly love to go to a home where she could be allowed inside with the family. She'd be fine as an only dog or with a small dog.
For more information or to meet Bella please phone foster carer Lea on 0458-423-646. Bella is in foster care in Taree, NSW.
Bella's $500 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
