About Emma (On Trial 4/5/13)
This very pretty 7 week old puppy is Emma. We think she is Belgian Shepherd crossed with Labrador. She will grow up to be a medium to large dog. There are three in this litter. Ebony (the black girl) shows more Labrador, and Emma (the lighter sable one) and Eddie (the darker sable one) show more Belgian Shepherd.
These 3 puppies are the only survivors of a litter of 11 puppies which were found dumped in the bush at 1 day old. 4 were already dead when found. They were brought to rescue but 4 were too weak and died within a few days. So Eddie, Ebony and Emma are very strong and healthy. We had an adult dog whose puppies had just been adopted when these arrived and she mothered them and gave them all the advantages of being raised by their own mother other than being able to feed them. So they have all been hand reared and are very used to being handled and being with people and a home environment.
Eddie, Ebony and Emma are very healthy, happy, affectionate and smart. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. Remember puppies are a big commitment and need plenty of affection, exercise, and training throughout their lives. We won't allow them to go to homes where they will be left home alone all day. So they will need a home with an adult dog for company and/or a person who is home a lot. They were born on 5/3/13.
Their adoption fee is $450 each including desexing, first two vaccinations and microchipping. You can meet them now and leave a $225 non-refundable deposit on your chosen puppy and pick him or her up in mid-May. We require a yard check and photo ID. For information about adopting a puppy please ring Leanne on 02 4954 0557 (sorry, no email). They are in foster care in Glendale, NSW 2285 (northern Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
