About Rusty (3) (On Trial 25/4/13)
Rusty is an 8 year old Staffy X. I can’t say enough good things about this boy, he is just beautiful. I would like to see him go to a home where he will get plenty of love and respect as he will give that to you and more. His previous owners have obviously taken a lot of time to train him as he is very well behaved and obedient. He will wait for his food until you say ok, he will sit, stay, shake hands, roll over and will come when you call him. He is fine with having a bath also and enjoys a good scratch.
Rusty is fantastic with other dogs. I own a Foxy x Jack Russell and my parents own an Australian Bulldog, and he has been terrific with both of them. Lots of play and wrestling, and my dog Sonny seems to have taken the “Top Dog” roll, regardless of how small he is in comparison.
Rusty loves to have a play, you would not think he is 8 years old, he acts more like a 2 or 3 year old and runs like a goofy Boxer dog. He also loves a good cuddle, he will let you hug him and won't try and lick or run away, he may give you an appreciative kiss if you let him.
Rusty is house trained. He has been sleeping inside, so I have been letting him out of a night before bed and then again when I get up of a morning and he hasn’t done anything in the house. He will need a secure yard with good tall fences that he can’t climb as I have been told he does like to do this. He hasn’t tried at my house as yet though. I haven’t observed him with kids yet, but I have been told that he is great with them also, and doesn’t react around cats.
To the family that gets to have this beautiful dog in their life, you will have made a wonderful friend and companion, and I wish you all a life of happiness. He deserves a second chance. Good luck Rusty boy! For more information or to meet Rusty please phone foster carer Pam on 0401-875-751. Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
