About Oscar (On trial 8/6/13)
Oscar is a gorgeous, affectionate, no-trouble, Australian Cattle Dog x (possibly with Lab), 18 months old. He has longer legs and a smoother coat than a cattle dog but the same markings. He loves people, dogs and children.
Oscar came from a pound earlier this year and was so traumatised by his previous life that he used to hide in corners with his paws over his face. He never at anytime showed aggression to anyone who helped him. Oscar's first carer helped him enormously with overcoming the fears that he had of walking on a lead and getting used to human kindness. He then came to me and joined my pack of 6 dogs (small, large, old, young male and female). He loves every one of them and is very gentle with the small ones. He has adapted so well to his new life and loves to come inside and sleeps inside.
Everyone who has met Oscar has fallen in love with him with his happy, kind, gentle disposition and his beautiful smile. It will be very hard to let Oscar go but as I already have six dogs, one more is just not possible.
Oscar is housetrained and quiet. He does not attempt to jump fences even though he could clear them in a second. He is still a little strong on a lead but gets enough exercise playing with his mates on our large block. He is available for a family or couple who will give him lots of attention, has another dog, and will allow him to sleep inside, and there definitely will be tears when he finally finds that loving home and leaves this one
For more information or to meet Oscar please phone foster carer Caroline on 02-4988-6401 or email moorefieldsfarm@bigpond.com. Oscar is in foster care near Raymond Terrace, NSW (30 minutes north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Oscar's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
