About Koby (On Trial 22/5/13)
boy with a lot of love to give. He enjoys his belly rubs, will lay still for grooming. He likes being by your side out in the yard, whether you're mowing the lawn or laying in the sun. I have been informed that Koby has shown no interest in cats.
Koby already knows how to sit when asked and we're teaching him how to 'sit' using a hand signal too. He walks well on the lead, he's eager to learn and to please. When he first sees you he is excited, and may jump up but calms down after a while. This can be reduced by asking him to sit instead. Because Koby is such a smart dog we recommend continued training, even dog training classes, to help stimulate his intelligent mind and to have fun and bond with him.
When I start playing with our dogs, Koby watches his doggy pals from the sideline to learn the basics before he gets involved. Very clever. Like any dog, Koby will need a daily walk and to spend quality time with his family every day.
Koby is best suited to a home where he will be a part of the family and can continue on with basic training. He would suit a home with children over the age of about 5 as he may jump on small children.
For more information or to meet Koby please phone foster carer Nay on 0407-324-214 \ or (02) 4990 4518. Koby is in foster care in Cessnock, NSW 2325 NSW (40 minutes west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Koby's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
