About Gizzy (On Trial 12/5/13)
Gizzy is a 6-7 year old, male, shih-tzu mix. He would love to make someone happy. He doesn't bark at all, which is great in a dog! He's an easy going little boy who doesn't mind spending some time outside during the day but needs to come in before it gets dark and to sleep inside. He gets on well with his foster mum's dogs, cats and children. Gizzy needs to go to a home with another friendly dog because he loves other dogs and thrives on their company. He likes to curl up with another dog to sleep.
He hasn't had much training but he is eager to please and not naughty and will come when called. He is good off lead and stays right with you. Being a male, he may try to do a little 'marking' when he first arrives in a new place but this is easily managed by keeping an eye on him for the first couple of days and letting him out regularly. He's not a picky eater; chicken is his favourite.
He doesn't require a lot of exercise. He loves a walk on the beach but is also happy just to sit in the sun somewhere. He doesn't fret when left home alone. He is happy to stay outside and enjoy the sunshine but he does have 3 other dogs for company. If you don't have other dogs at home he would be better inside when left alone.
Gizzy has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
He is an easy boy, and he'll be happy with anyone that lets him inside and is gentle and gives him lots of love

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
