Roy

Roy is the epitome of the perfect older pup. Squishy, loveable and exuberant but also a capable and eager learner that is happiest when he’s pleasing his humans. In the weeks since coming into foster care in Sydney he has already mastered sit, drop and wait plus walks well on a lead. He has also mastered the art of finding the softest, warmest couch to sleep on…preferably with a human underneath him! It probably goes without saying that Roy has no potential whatsoever as a working farm dog. This boy loves his comforts!

Given his naturally social disposition, Roy will be best suited to an active home with at least one other dog, or a situation where he’ll have human company most of the time and be included in daily activities. Currently fostered with two adult dogs and one around his age, he chooses the young one first, but plays or socialises happily with whoever’s keen. Roy is quite submissive, which makes him lovely with kids and he has never met a dog or person of any size, shape or age he didn’t like. He can sometimes jump up when excited, but we’re working on helping him control his exuberance and a continued focus on basic obedience in his forever home will give his manners that last bit of polish.

Roy currently has indoor/outdoor access during the day and his housetraining is very good. He is also good overnight, but can struggle if his family has a big sleep in without opening the doggie door.

We’d love to see Roy find a forever home that can appreciate his huge heart and beautiful soft personality. \ If you enjoy being active with your pets but are also happy for an empty lap or vacant couch to be a thing of the past, you can’t go past our loving boy Roy!
