About Chipper (On Trial 22/6/13)
Chipper is a 4 yo male desexed Mastiff x Kelpie. He is fantastic with children, even young ones and gets on well with other dogs. He is very obedient and has had a lot of training. He is great to take out for walks - heels on command, comes when called, sits, stays and shakes hands. He is a smart dog, always wanting to please.
Chipper is happy lazing around. He is currently kept in a very small backyard, so gets a walk a day... He does not chew, dig, or exhibit any boredom behaviours, preferring instead to sleep all day on his bed until someone gets home.
He can jump, so would need at least 5ft fences. He would be better suited to a home without cats as he loves to chase them. Chipper is primarily an outside dog at present, but does come inside for a few hours every day, as he dearly loves to be with you and be a part of the family. He is well behaved and calm inside and is toilet trained.
Chipper was surrendered to the pound as his owners were moving and sadly could not take him to their new home. He is a very loving and affectionate dog and makes a great companion. He is a truly amazing dog with a wonderful temperament who will quickly find his way into your heart.
For more information or to meet Chipper please phone foster carer Caroline 02 49886401 Chipper is in foster care in Medowie, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Chipper's $300 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
