About Lucky *On Trial in His New Home*
*LUCKY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* Fancy yourself a bit of a Jenny Craig or a Michelle Bridges of the doggie world? Well here’s your challenge; adopt happy-boy Lucky and help him shed the 5-6kgs he desperately needs to lose – he weighs a whopping 16.6kgs and even though he’s a large Cav that’s still obese, poor boy.....so are you up for the challenge cos Lucky certainly is???!!!
Recently surrendered to SARG, because his family’s circumstances have changed and they no longer had the time for him, Lucky is an almost 7 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who spent a fair bit of time in the chook pen in his previous life, hence the weight gain as he was eating the chooks food! Don’t be fooled by the fact that he’s almost 7 as he can be quite puppyish still and he’s very energetic which should help with his weight loss program.
From Lucky’s foster carer: Lucky would love to be a lap dog but he cannot sit still when he first arrived at our home, he will pace as he isn’t used to being inside but this is getting better now after lots of persistence. Lucky just wants to please everyone and he is really enjoying the company of our other dogs and being able to be inside with everyone and he will snore loudly while he’s curled up in front of the tv at night. He will chase our indoor cats if they run but no harm done as he isn’t aggressive at all just playful and excitable. Toilet training still needs some time although he has only had a couple of accidents inside. He seems happier sleeping outside with our Heeler x and you don’t hear a peep from him all night. While in care we’ve been brushing up on his “sit” and “down” as he does jump up a bit so we wouldn’t recommend him to a home with toddlers as he’d bowl them over with his goofy enthusiasm! He also hadn’t been walked on a lead in a long time so he does pull hard when you first start out though the more walks he goes on the better he’ll become. He’s a friendly, affectionate dog who always has a smile at the ready and he deserves a home who’ll put the time into him – we adore him!
Handsome Lucky doesn’t appear to lose much hair but will require regular brushing and a clip especially during the warmer months. Secure fencing, daily walks and runs around the backyard plus toys to play with will make Lucky very happy indeed. In his forever home we’d like to see him in more of an inside / outside lifestyle where he can be part of the household goings on with either a friendly dog for company or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially during his settling in period.

Adoption details
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed,
references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
