About Jacko (On Trial 5/5/13)
Jacko is a 2 year old terrier cross with a blue/black, glossy coat with tan markings. One ear sits up the other is floppy, which gives him a cute, cheeky look particularly when he cocks his head on one side when you are talking to him. Jacko's coat is low maintenance, and only requires an occasional bath and a brush to keep him looking his best. Also I have noticed hardly, if any shedding.
Personality wise, little Jacko hasn't an aggressive bone in his body; he loves everyone; people, children and dogs of all sizes. Jacko is energetic, playful and intelligent. He enjoys back scratches, treats, toys, cuddles on the lounge, being with you and a bit of rough and tumble, hence would be ideal for an active family. My grandchildren adored him as much as he adored them. \ I am not sure how he is with cats or other animals because I don't have any. At the leash free area at the dog park, Jacko was perfect; didn't run away and was always checking to see where I was. However, like all dogs he hasn't any road sense and had to be watched closely in the parking area.
Jacko is an inside/outside dog, fully housetrained and able to use a doggy door. When I go out, he has full access to the house and is not destructive; that being said if there are any tempting scraps in the kitchen tidy be assured he will fish them out! Jacko is not an excessive barker, he will let you know if someone is at the door but quickly settles. He needs to be allowed inside, particularly when the family are at home and to sleep inside during the night. Jacko would love to be allowed to sleep on the end of your bed as I have allowed him to - but I am sure he would adjust if provided with a cosy place to sleep elsewhere inside the house.
Although Jacko is a small dog, he is not a fussy eater and has a healthy appetite. As with all young dogs, Jacko can be a little over enthusiastic - he loves everyone and gets excited when receiving attention. \ With regular exercise, positive reinforcement training and maturity, this will be easily curbed.
Jacko has settled in well here is just over a week with very few dramas. He is the cutest little dog and I find him delightful to have around. I'm sure he will bring a lot of affection and joy to his forever home.
For more information or to meet Jacko please phone foster carer Rebecca on 0423 041 999 or 4957 0892 or email rosella52@bigpond.com . Jacko is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
