About Millie (adopted 19/4/13)
Millie is a very small, purebred Toy Poodle, 9 years young. She will love her new owner and get very attached to the person who cares for her. She is a devoted little dog who is also quite independent. Millie has plenty of beds she likes to snooze in at different times of the day, and she has jumpers she wears when it gets cold. She is used to being an only dog and would prefer to be kept that way. Millie has unfortunately found herself in need of a new home due to the passing of her owner. Millie has always been a much loved dog and has always been very well looked after.
Millie needs a special diet which will need to be kept up otherwise she will get an irritated bowel. She also has a dry/weepy eye which she has eye cream for.
Being a poodle, Millie has a non-shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Millie's ideal owner would be someone who:
...is stable and has a calm home.
...will allow Millie to be inside at all times, except to go outside for toileting.
...is retired or only works part time.
...doesn't have other dogs, cats or children under 12 (or no children).
... is financially able to purchase Millie's special canned food and eye medication, and who will have her groomed on a regular basis.
Like any dog, Millie needs a vet check every year and to be regularly wormed and flea treated.
If you are looking for a loyal companion, a beautiful little soul who is looking for someone to love and to be loved back then Millie is the little dog for you.
If you are interested in meeting Millie then please call Jacqui on 0405 000 832 to arrange a time. Millie is in foster care in Cameron Park, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Millie's $300 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
