Jaxson (On Trial 4/5/13)

JAXSON is a 14 week old Bull Terrier x Staghound puppy. He is a happy, active, and a playful little man. He loves to play with all sorts of toys and balls. His favourite game is tug of war, though we encourage this game with only a toy. That way walking on a lead is an understanding that the lead is not a toy. Jaxson is a social puppy and spends most of his time inside the house each day. But he also loves to be with you to play outside as well. He has a beautiful face and continually looks up at you for guidance.

Jaxson walks well on a lead. With new smells etc it is natural for him to want to pull, yet being a very fast learner it will not take much time to get this under control. He will need puppy training class to help teach him not to pull and other basic good manners. Positive reinforcement training, NOT a choker chain is the way to go. Jaxson already knows the word "sit" and when on walks we encourage him to sit before crossing the road. Puppy-training classes will be required to give Jaxson the best start to learning the best way to socialise and train this puppy. Jaxson, like all puppies, needs plenty of affection, exercise, and training, and not to be left outside in a yard all alone.

He gets along well with the other dogs here (being a large, medium and small breed) and is learning the personalities of each and what will be tolerated. The transition from dog play to human play has greatly improved and he will greet you every time you walk in the door. At dinner he walks to the kitchen and just sits and waits. He has no food aggression to the other dogs and even shared a bowl of puppy milk with the little terrier right down to the last drop.

He has access to inside and outside during the day and he sleeps inside at night. Toilet training is an ongoing thing though he is starting to get the hang of it. As with all puppies a new home means new training as they become familiar with where the toilet is. He is a very handsome, healthy, and intelligent puppy and will be a great deal of joy and fun to the right lucky family.
