About Drake (adopted 18/4/13)
Drake is a Staffy, male, approx 5 to 6 years old. He has mostly been an inside dog and walked twice daily. He is good on a lead. He loves people and has a very waggly tail. He needs either a permanent home, or a foster home where he can stay until he is adopted.
Drake hasn't been tried around small dogs or cats. He had other dogs at his first home but didn't like being dominated by other males. He would be best either as an only dog or with a submissive female dog his own size. We haven't seen him show any aggression when other dogs have been near him. He would just need to be tested with any other dog he might live with. Drake would be quite happy being an only dog as he loves human company.
Drake is in need of a new home because his owner has relocated to Western Australia and sadly couldn't take him. For more information or to meet Drake please phone Jan on 0408 266 639 (no email). Drake is in foster care in southern Lake Macquarie, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Drake's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
