About Charlie (On Trial 18/5/13)
Charlie is a gorgeous 12yr old little Maltese x Australian Silky Terrier who is looking for a comfortable chair or lap to nap on for his retirement years. He is a friendly little dog, loves a walk and is always eager to have his lead put on. He is not aggressive with any dogs we meet and gets on well with our resident dog and another foster dog.
Charlie was very much a neglected dog when he came to Dog Rescue. He has a few problems – he has a cataract in one eye and partially restricted sight in the other. He has also had some teeth removed and may have some loss of hearing. None of this seems to worry him as he is now a happy little dog. He does not require any ongoing medication.
He is house trained and has learnt to use the pet door. He answers to his name and comes when called. He has not tried to escape and has shown no inclination to dig or chew shoes etc. He does not shed hair.
Charlie would make an excellent companion dog for a retired person.
For more information or to meet Charlie please phone Brenda or Ray on 02 4919 0370. Charlie is in foster care in Port Stephens, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
We are only asking for a small donation so Charlie can find a home, maybe $50 or $100? He is desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm treated, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes
Partially blind, teeth removed but now all good, some hearing loss. No ongoing medication required.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
