About Lola (On Trial 17/3/13)
Available for Adoption: Lola is a 9 week old, female, purebred, Miniature Poodle. She is quite petite and has a tiny face and sweet little features. She loves being in the house and following you everywhere. She enjoy playing with all sorts of toys and especially likes tug games. She will sit at your feet when she wants a cuddle and is learning to love belly rubs. She is very well behaved and loves small children. She has been around other dogs but no other animals. Being so young she would quickly learn to accept other pets such as cats.
Lola is an inside dog and needs to be inside as much as possible and to sleep inside. She currently sleeps inside with her siblings in a soft little bed but also likes a trampoline bed. She is happy to sleep at your feet and is also happy to curl up on your knee. Being a purebred puppy, if left outside alone in a yard she would be a target for thieves. We are housetraining Lola to use a puppy pad and to go outside and she is doing ok with this. She can use a doggy door which has had the flap removed. She loves chicken, cooked carrots, puppy biscuits and puppy milk and likes to try new food.
Poodles are very intelligent dogs so Lola will do well with puppy training. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, training, and time with their humans.
Lola has a glossy black, non-shedding coat. She will need regular combing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful. You'll need to be prepared to commit to this if you want a poodle.
Lola was surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle by a breeder, along with her 4 siblings, mother Judy and father Peppa (all also available for adoption).
Lola will suit a family that want a playful, clever, inside dog. She would be ideal for children. For more information or to meet Lola please phone foster carer Vicki on 02 4976 1200 or 0428 721 063 . She is in foster care in Lake Macquarie, NSW (near Newcastle).
Lola has been vet checked and is very healthy. She has just had her first vaccination. Her $700 adoption fee includes her desexing, first two vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
