About Jack
When Jack first came into foster care he was extremely timid and frightened and would not go near anyone but would, in fact, hide away from people. Over the next couple of weeks he became his carer's affectionate little shadow and today is quite at ease. Although still her shadow when around, Jack plays with the two adult daughters, doesn’t hide and tremble with visitors anymore and will even tentatively even sniff them. Jack is gradually allowing the adult son to pat him and doesn’t run away when he is around but Jack does have a strong fear of males. He loves his walks but, to begin with, was so scared he barely moved but now he gets very excited and would run all the way if he could. Jack is like a big, huggy, polar bear cub who loves to cuddle and play with his special person. Jack is house trained, enjoys playing with his toys and likes to tussle with his carer's Border Collie X but still needs more socialization with other dogs because he doesn’t know how to behave with them. Jack also enjoys acrobatics and your mouth will drop as you watch him jump so high, especially when he goes backwards! Jack still has some way to go in terms of losing all his fear but he is at the point where he could be rehomed with a special person who has the necessary patience. Jack is only young and can definitely achieve a normal, doggy lifestyle. He would ideally suit a female owner/s with no other dogs (because Jack bonds so strongly with you that your current dogs may feel left out). Jack has not been exposed to children in his foster home and would need initial supervision with them. Because of the strong bond Jack will develop with his new special person, they need to be 100% certain that they will stick by him for life because that devotion doesn’t deserve to be go unrewarded.
