About Tubby
Tubby is a sweet and affectionate 4 year old boy and LOVES people and other dogs.
He came into our care after he finished his racing career. He was not really a successful racer and prefers to spend his time getting cuddles from you or playing with canine friends.
Tubby is not really keen on chasing the lure or anything else for that matter. He is just a real sweetheart.
Tubby can be a bit timid when he first meets new men. It must stem from some bad experiences he had in the past and he doesn’t show any fear around women or children. Tubby \ is just really terrified of men he doesn’t know yet and likes to observe from a safe distance first. Tubby comes around fairly quickly though once he realises that there is no danger. He relaxes and accepts pats and cuddles.
Tubby also doesn’t like loud traffic noises and can get scared when a truck or tram drives past. He would prefer to run away but over time will build up his confidence in traffic. As a kennel dog his entire life there is suddenly so much to learn for young Tubby!
Because he is still a bit scared of big noises we think he would not suit a home with small children. It would be too hectic and stressful for him. Instead Tubby would like a quite, laid back household where he has a lot of company. Tubby would love to live with another dog too but can be an only dog as well. He has shown good signs of being cat friendly too but we have not tested him properly. He is fine with all dogs, small and large, and either ignores them or sniffs them nicely.
Tubby is healthy, de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped and had a dental too. He is ready for his new home and will make his new family very happy.
