About Ginger
Ginger and her 5 pups came to us in 2012r. They were very timid, scared and unsocialised. Ginger had been purchased in pup by someone who had a contract overseas for security work from Sydney Guard Dog Centre which had not worked out, the contract cancelled so the pups were not needed. We were contacted to see if we would take them and rehabilitate them to which we agreed. Ginger is still timid and will only come to me at this stage although she she also sneeking up behind some of our volunteers to say hello. I am sure if she had one on one time she would soon come out of her shell as she has done for me. She is house trained and will come and sit beside me all day long if she had a chance. She is a very loving dog and would make a good companion but does not like strangers so goes and hides when they are around.
She also hates being cornered and needs to be approached careful as she will snap her teeth to warn you not to come near. When she feels safe she will role on her back to totally submit. She is a very gentle girl who knows what she wants while being sweet natured too! She would be better with adults and older children. Usually she just keeps away from anything she is unsure of. She will bark at strange people and noises. She is extremely intelligent and is probably smarter than most people I know!!! Once her confidence is gained she would be an awesome tracking dog, major in agility and herding, in fact anything which requires brains. She has very good confirmation and is extremely fit. She needs a special home to stretch her mentally and physically, a champion in the making!!
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, \ fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
