About Isabella
This sweet, gentle little girl came into the Pound in a shocking state (click on photo below) and could hardly move as she was so matted. The staff could not even identify her breed and thought she might be a Pomeranian due to the amount of hair that was covering her whole body. Isabella was sent to the Pound vet and, after being sedated and shaved right back, a small and gentle little Maltese X girl emerged from under the matted hair. Then the next big shock came as once shaved off the vet saw that Isabella had a substantial injury to her leg that had gone unnoticed at the Pound. The wonderful vet examined her carefully and established that she had sustained a significant trauma to her leg some months ago. Isabella's achilles tendon had been snapped (probably due to being hit by a car) and if it had been treated immediately, the tendon could have been sutured together so she could still use her leg. Sadly this poor girl's injury had been left untreated and Isabella had been 'making do' ever since. Having said that, this sweetheart is a trouper and is so happy to have all that hair off and be in care with her very loving foster mum. She runs around so happily, lifting her leg to move and then using it as a prop for a brief rest before going off again. This litle girl has learned to cope well with her injury and it doesn't cause her any pain and does not really hinder her in any way. Isabella is a gorgeous girl who wants lots and lots of cuddles, is happy and healthy, sweet and gentle, low shedding and great with other dogs. She's a real stunner!
