About Gus (On Trial 16/3/13)
Gus is a gorgeous 8 week old wolfhound x puppy!
His favourite thing in the world is belly scratches, followed closely by food. He's not quite as brave as his sister Olive and usually just follows her lead, but has been very happy to meet any new dogs we introduce him to.
He's very affectionate boy and loves pats and cuddles and at times can be a little sooky which if course is super cute! He has an absolutely wonderful personality and will make a great addition to any family.
Gus is in care with his sister Olive. The pups are in the process of being toilet trained and learning basic commands but since they're still very young can have little accidents and are easily distracted.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training, and not to be left outside in a yard all alone.
Gus will need a dedicated family who have the time to spend with him. He doesn't like being left alone so will need to have either another dog or someone with her during the day.
Gus and his 9 siblings (also available for adoption) who were born on 29/12/12. We think dad may have been a border collie.
He and his littermates will be ready to go to permanent homes after the 16th March but can be viewed now. If you leave a deposit your chosen puppy will be reserved for you.
For more information or to meet Gus please phone Kirrily on 0408 620 764. Gus is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW 2304 and is available for adoption interstate.
Gus’s $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
