About Pumbaa *On Trial in His New Home*
*PUMBAA IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* This gorgeous hunk of spunk with the rather cute ears is Pumbaa and he’s looking for a loving forever home; will it be with you?
Surrendered to SARG for rehousing as his owner had too many dogs Pumbaa is a delightful little fella. Having lived with a Rottweiler and 2 Jack Russell crosses he’s terrific with other dogs and enjoys playtime with his carers family Border Collie. Pumbaa isn’t at all yappy or in your face though he does bark at cats and chases them from his carers yard though we can test this further if required with some dog-friendly inside cats. He doesn’t jump up (and if he does he’s gentle!) and he’s great with children who gave him his name when he was a wee puppy. Pumbaa is happy to entertain himself with his toys or patrol the back yard for “intruders” though his favourite thing would have to be cuddles and he enjoys being picked up for them or just sitting quietly beside you – at 8.5kgs he’s a slightly oversized lapdog! Clever Pumbaa knows “sit” though we don’t think he’s spent much time on a lead so he’ll be having some more practice at this. He’d never been to a vet or had a professional groom yet Pumbaa took them both in his stride within days of arriving in foster care – he’s a confident little guy!!

As his father was a Maltese x ShihTzu Pumbaa doesn’t shed much hair though he will require regular brushing (which he loves!) and a clip when needed to keep him looking handsome. Pumbaa appears to be housetrained and is happy sleeping outside in a kennel or inside in the laundry on stormy nights. He is outside during the day while his foster carer is at work and then comes inside for some tv time at night; Pumbaa will sit quietly on a rug when asked. We would like to see this indoor / outdoor lifestyle continued in his forever home with either a doggie friend for company or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially while he settles into his new home. Secure fencing, daily walks or runs around the backyard, chicken necks to chew on and toys to play with will make loveable Pumbaa very happy indeed!
If you’ve been looking for the companionship of a cruisey little dog then you can’t go past Pumbaa so please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link or by copying and pasting it into your browser: http://www.sarg.net.au/adoptapet.html

Adoption details
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed,
references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
