About Toby
TOBY SEEKING HIS NEW FAMILY....IS IT MY TURN YET? .... PICK ME, PICK ME !
TOBY ..... Is a really special boy, Toby was sponsored whilst in care with the rescue shelter by Alex a good friend to the shelter ( he adopted his own dog Sampson from us) who very sadly recently passed away. Alex used to visit Toby at the rescue every couple of weeks to spend time with him and give him some love. Toby was always so excited to see Alex and loved pushing himself in as close as possible for hugs and body rubs.
We cannot believe Toby has not been adopted yet he is so friendly and eager to please he just wants to show you his affection at every opportunity. When he has had meet & greets he is always on his very best behaviour, pick me, pick me! He really is a funny little character, loves to play hide and seek rushing off to hide behind a post in the dog yards when he is let out for his morning exercise, excitedly waiting for you to find him. Funny boy thinks you can't see him behind the skinny post. Like all young dogs he loves to play but not over excitable or OTT.
Toby has had no other dog issues and friendly with male or female dogs at the shelter of all sizes. Toby can climb his kennel chain wire fencing if he feels like it out of boredom or frustration at not having the freedom he needs and deserves. Toby will need either colour bond or wood fencing in his new home. He's a young Staffy X but with a lovely soft coat a bit longer than a Staffy coat.
Toby came from Renbury Shelter in NSW where he was on the PTS list. When I met him at Renbury he had come in with his little doggie sister they had been found together. Toby was very attached to her and relied on little sis for confidence. He was very frightened to find himself in the shelter and had to be carried out of his kennel to meet me. His little sister was adopted from Renbury leaving Toby on his own and on the PTS list. Alex who adopted Sampson kindly payed for his transport from NSW to QLD so we could rescue Toby then sponsored him whilst in the rescues care awaiting his forever home. Toby has come on in leaps and bounds whilst with the rescue be has built his confidence and is a very happy young man. This boy is just desperate for a family to love.
Adoption details
Please email or phone to make the enquiry about the dog you are interested in adopting and we can answer any further questions you may have. We will then send you an adoption application form to complete and return via email along with ID and photo's of your garden/yard and fencing/gates.
If the adoption application is approved a home check & meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting will be arranged. If you have other dogs in the family we like them to come along and also meet with the dog.
If all goes ahead and you adopt the dog there is a 4 week trial period to make sure they settle in their new home ok. If it works out well the adoption papers are then finalised and all dogs from our adoption program must be registered with your local council and the microchip details changed into your name and contact details.
