About Xena (On Trial 2/6/13)
Introducing Xena, a charming little Staffy, roughly 8 years old. She does not require long vigorous walks but enjoys moderate walks (not runs). She would be suitable for retired person/couple who could spend time with her. She is a quiet girl. She ignores cats and is friendly with other dogs but doesn’t want to play and run with them. She doesn’t like dogs standing over her.
She rarely barks and is well trained but has a mind of her own. She is an inside dog and loves being close to you but is not demanding of your attention. She likes her bed and needs to stay inside at night.
She is a very good eater and may develop a weight problem if you don't control her food. She eats everything but in particular she likes fruit like mango, banana and fresh figs. At times she may decide to go for a walk by herself so she needs to be in a well fenced area and people need to be careful when opening doors and gates.
Xena has beautiful and loving nature and is dreaming of a permanent home. She'd be an ideal companion for someone who doesn't want a dog that requires lots of walking. Xena is just great company and a joy to have around.
For more information or to meet Xena please phone foster carer Ewa 0417 690 801 or email bwa@bigpond.net.au . Xena is in foster care in Carey Bay, NSW, Lake Macquarie, and is available for adoption interstate.
Xena's $200 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
