About Shadow (2) (On Trial 5/3/13)
Shadow is an active, 5 month old Kelpie x. She is very appropriately named. Firstly, she is a black dog with a little white diamond on her chest and secondly give her some love and she will be your “shadow”, at your side where ever you go. From an early age we have witnessed her loyalty and dedication to 'Defending the Realm' and with full sized ears on a little dog who could blame her attention to detail, in her mind she is Batdog!
Shadow was the smallest of the litter and has been gradually growing into her body and overcoming some minor leg control issues. Having now overcome these issues she is learning 'Kelpie Mode' from her sister and starting to give back to Gnarla as much wrestle as she takes. Shadow is still shy of the hose and will stand off barking at it whilst wanting to get in and have a play. Further development of this game will see her loving water and becoming a great outdoors/sports orientated dog.
She loves to get out of the yard on a walk and displays very good manners on the lead. She also has shown an early interest in fetching a ball and will bring it back most times. She would suit a home that can offer her regular exercise and a large yard.
We always recommend training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training, and not to be left outside in a yard all the time.
Shadow is currently living with her sister Gnarla (also available for adoption) and our blue cattle dog with no problems encountered. Shadow would suit a home that can offer her further training, some family time inside each day, regular exercise, and a decent sized yard.
For more information or to meet Shadow please phone foster carer Melanie on 0431 184 213 or email quickmons@exemail.com.au . Shadow is in foster care in, Newcastle NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Shadow's $450 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
