About Sammy (On Trial 11/6/13)
Sammy is a lovely 3-4 year old Jack Russell cross who is very affectionate. He simply loves receiving as much attention as you are willing to give him. Sometimes if he is outside he presses his nose up against the door to show you he wants to play and have cuddles.
One of Sammy’s favourite items in the world is his bed. He also loves his stuffed monkey toy and a ball which he will gladly chase around the yard for as long as you are willing to play with him. Sammy is fully housetrained and needs to be allowed inside and to sleep inside.
Sammy walks beautifully on a lead. We have been working on his basic obedience training with him and he now knows how to sit and stay, though would still benefit from some training classes. He is not a fan of the whipper snipper and will bark and run at it so is best to be kept away from garden tools.
He also loves to attack the water as it comes out of the garden hose which can make it difficult to water the garden at times but it's quite funny to watch.
Sammy is just a very happy active little boy who will make someone a very adorable companion one day when he is adopted.
For more information or to meet Sammy please phone Anne 02 4943 3651 or 0412 837 867. Sammy is in foster care in Charlestoen, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Sammy's $400 adoption fee covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
